Who is your hero? Honor your veteran, first-responder, relative or friend with a permanent plaque aboard the historic Battleship Wisconsin. Military or civilian, living or deceased – an engraved plaque placed aboard the last battleship built by the United States Navy is a meaningful and memorable gift.

Plaques are a tax-deductible donation to the Nauticus Foundation, a 501(C)3 nonprofit. All proceeds support the preservation, restoration, and interpretation of the Battleship Wisconsin.

Commemorative Plaque Location

The Battleship Wisconsin is a big ship, but the berthing visible along the public tour route is very limited. This program is a unique opportunity to acquire a permanent commemoration of you or your family’s commitment to preserve and honor a historic symbol of American naval might.

Racks

 Available racks include berthing in the following locations –

1.) Enlisted Berthing – Top, Middle & Bottom
*Max of two (2) plaques per rack level

2.) Chief Petty Officer Berthing – Top & Bottom
*Max of one (1) plaque per rack level (very limited quantity of CPO racks available)

3.) Master Chief Berthing – Top & Bottom
*Max of one (1) plaque per rack level (very limited quantity of MC racks available)

Lockers

 Available lockers include berthing in the following locations –

1.) Enlisted Berthing – Box and Upright Lockers
*Max of one (1) plaques per locker

2.) Chief Petty Officer Berthing – Cabinet Locker
*Max of one (1) plaque per cabinet door on locker (very limited quantity of CPO lockers available)

3.) Master Chief Berthing – Cabinet Locker
*Max of one (1) plaque per locker (very limited quantity of MC lockers available)

Plaque Sizing & Inscription

Each plaque is 4.5” x 2” bronze metal with black coating. The first line is allocated to a dedication line of the donor’s choice (In Memory of, In Honor of, Dedicated by) followed by three lines for applicant use (max of 78 characters, must include spaces & punctuation).

Nauticus reserves the right to deny requests for inscriptions that might be considered offensive or inappropriate or messages that do not align with the Museum’s mission. No other plaques, markers or decoration of any kind are permitted on/in racks and lockers.

Pricing

Pricing starts at $250 for lockers and $500 for racks.

Discounts: Battleship Wisconsin Veterans receive a 10% discount on all levels. Combo pricing is available. Veteran status must be approved by Nauticus. Please contact the Development Department to learn more.

While all reasonable attempts will be made to accommodate special requests, Nauticus cannot guarantee sponsorship of a particular rack or berthing compartment location.

What is the Battleship Wisconsin Commemorative Giving Opportunity?
This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to support the Battleship Wisconsin to honor a veteran, thank a loved one or carve your own story in a permanent place of recognition. The Battleship may be a big ship but only features a limited number of opportunities to feature your inscription along a visible tour route in the interior decks of the ship.
How does this program support Nauticus and the Battleship Wisconsin?
Every plaque purchase is considered a tax-deductible donation to the Nauticus Foundation. Nauticus, home of the Battleship Wisconsin is operated by the foundation, a private 501(c)(3) organization. Nauticus relies on private donations such as plaque purchases to fund daily operations, support ongoing education programs and help preserve the Battleship Wisconsin. Your support will ensure that Nauticus continues to be a world-class attraction that supports STEM-STERN education, provides impactful experiences and shares access to maritime resources. Support to this program is non-refundable.

Is my plaque permanent?
Yes, all plaques are permanent and cannot be moved once placed. Nauticus will make every reasonable effort to maintain plaques. If circumstances cause Nauticus to move the donor’s plaque, the donor will be notified right away.
How many plaques are placed on each rack/locker?

Racks are limited to a maximum of two (2) plaques per enlisted rack and one (1) plaque per Chief Petty Officer and Master Chiefs racks. Enlisted Lockers are limited to one (1) plaque per sponsor, Chief Petty Officer Lockers are limited to one (1) plaque per door, and Master Chief Lockers are limited to one (1) plaque per entire locker.

I am a veteran of the BB64, can I place a plaque on my Rack and/or Locker?
While all reasonable attempts will be made to accommodate special requests, Nauticus cannot guarantee sponsorship of a particular rack or berthing compartment location.
Can I request that my plaque be placed next to someone else’s?

Yes, as long as both plaques are purchase at the same time and the spaces are available. No guarantees can be made. Unfortunately, we cannot move prior placed plaques.

I’m not a servicemember, can I still purchase a plaque?
YES! Plaques are for everyone: military or civilian, alive or deceased. This is the perfect opportunity to honor a veteran, thank a loved one, congratulate a friend or carve your own story aboard the historic Battleship Wisconsin.
Is there a discount for BB64 veterans?

Yes, USS Wisconsin Veterans may purchase a rack or locker at a discounted rate of 10% off, proof of serve is required. Please submit a copy of DD214 or Veteran card with printable form submission and by emailing both the form and copy of service to Development@nauticus.org

How long does it take to install my plaque?
Plaques typically take 6-10 weeks for fabrication after approval of final wording and layout. Plaque will not be ordered without prior payment. Due to COVID-19, plaques ordered in 2021 may not be visible along the indoor tour route until January 2022. Nauticus officials will work with the donor regarding placement details.
Will my plaque be visible to the public?
Yes, All plaques are placed on racks and lockers along the visible tour route aboard the Battleship Wisconsin.
