Help Raise Our Sails – Matching Gift Challenge

RAISE OUR SAILs
Campaign Goal:

On Sept. 30, we launched a matching gift challenge to Raise Our Sails. All donations up to $15,000, will be matched by our generous donor Dr. John Bowers & Family, and will be used for the purchase of new specialty-colored sails for our fleet of Harbor 20 sailboats. Our campaign goal was to reach $25,000!

With your generous support over the past few months, we’ve met our match goal and raised over $25,000 for the purchase of new specialty-colored sails for our fleet of Harbor 20 sailboats and much-needed programming supplies for our Sail Nauticus Academy operations.

We’re so grateful to all supporters of this campaign and look forward to debuting our new sails this spring/summer.
Examples of what your tax-deductible donation will support:

All funds raised after the cost of new sails will support programming supplies. Gift examples include:

  • $25        Two new dock lines or snacks for 20 students for one session

Why Give?
Our fleet is used year-round by hundreds of members, community groups, and students.

Sail Nauticus is a program of the Nauticus Foundation, a 501©3 nonprofit, offering affordable community sailing memberships, lessons, workshops, summer camps, and most impactful, a free after-school sailing academy serving 6th – 8th-grade Title 1 Students from Norfolk Public Schools.

Due to our diverse programming needs, our sailboats leave the dock every day. After years of use, it’s time to outfit our boats with new sails. High-quality sails will improve reliability, handling, and speed.

All donations which exceed the cost of new sails will go towards much-needed programming supplies for our Sail Nauticus Academy operations.

Thank you to our campaign donors!
