Nauticus Foundation Welcomes New Chief Financial Officer

Amy Owens brings more than two decades of experience in financial leadership.

Norfolk, Va. (October 10, 2023) – After a nationwide search, Nauticus is delighted to announce the hiring of Amy Owens, Chief Financial Officer. In her new role, Owens will help lead the Nauticus Foundation as progress continues on its “Reimagine Nauticus” project; a comprehensive redesign of all its exhibit gallery spaces.    

Owens is known for being well versed in spearheading financial management tasks that include budget development, competitive analysis, forecasting, reporting, and asset management. She is a resourceful business leader that is actively involved in assessing an organization’s needs, sharing best practices, shaping a long-range vision and strategy, and aligning the people to create the long-term value needed for success.

Owens’ 20+ year long, impressive career began in internal audit at the J.C. Penney Company. From there she held positions at the H.J. Heinz Company (Pittsburgh) throughout the supply chain (Finance, Purchasing, Demand Planning and Continuous Improvement) where she was trained in Six Sigma and led a continuous improvement team. Throughout her career, she has held positions at Starbucks Corporate Office (Seattle), NY Times, and most recently in private Non-Profit Schools as the Director of Finance & Non-Academic Business Operations locally in Norfolk, Va. 

Owens has started her new position at Nauticus and has already begun leading the organization to further success.
