Individual Volunteer

Individual volunteers must submit the online application, successfully complete an interview, a background screening (if over age 18) and attend a volunteer orientation prior to their service.

Internship Opportunities

Nauticus has many internship opportunities in subject matters such as: historical interpretation, onsite/outreach education program, summer camp assistants, exhibit inventory curatorial, and volunteer resources. Are you interested in Naval History, Battleship History with an emphasis on Battleship Wisconsin and talking with enthused visitors? A Battleship Wisconsin crew member might be the best position for you!

If you are a group or individual skilled in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, machinist mate, welding, Boatswain mate, etc., then the Restore BB-64 program is waiting for you to assist onboard the USS Wisconsin!

Are you enthusiastic about learning and sharing knowledge with others? As a volunteer on the Education Discovery Crew, you will be an integral part of dynamic engagement with guests around our maritime centered exhibits. Apply today for the Discovery Crew and claim your space as an ambassador for maritime education at Nauticus and Battleship Wisconsin.

Are you someone who loves to meet and greet new people as they enter the museum, take tickets, show visitors around and where to start exploring their adventure? If so, you’d make a great Guest Ambassador.

Are you a master at retail, merchandise, and sales? Or able to help a guest find the perfect souvenir? Apply to volunteer in the Nauticus Banana Pier gift shop.

Interested in sailing and/or teaching our youth on keelboats?  Or how about the mystique of working on and sailing on the 122 ft schooner? Sail Nauticus and Schooner Virginia would love to have you aboard!

Do you have the interest in electronic equipment? Our Exhibits Department would love your assistance in managing the films playing in the Brock Theater.

Are you skilled in repairs, installations, painting, and hold a basic knowledge of carpentry? We are looking for you to volunteer Saturdays or Sundays on an as-needed-basis to assist with projects around the campus.

Are you skilled in computer software, audio/video, and troubleshooting equipment? If you are interested in technology then apply as an Electronics Technician to assist with projects around the campus.
