Pollution Solutions - Ages 5-12

Sunday, March 21: 10:30 am – 11:00 am (ET)

What helps keep our waterways clean? In this lesson we will talk about natural and man-made filters, and then build filters of our own! To celebrate Women’s History Month, we will also highlight some women in STEM who’s work helped to preserve and protect the environment.

Materials: Two clear cups or glasses, scissors, dirt of any kind, a kitchen sponge (to be cut up), about 10 coffee filters, a mesh strainer, and a handful of cotton balls, straws, small rocks, grass and feathers.

These free family-based activities are for kids and adults, please get everyone involved in the family fun. Please complete this registration form. One of our educators will be in touch with you via the email you provide prior to the program. If you have any questions, please contact the Nauticus Education Department.
