Battleship Wisconsin at 77
April 16-18

Since April 16, 1944, the USS Wisconsin has served as a testament to the strength of the United States Navy. To celebrate the battleship’s 77th birthday, we’re reopening many of the interior spaces that have been closed due to the pandemic. Most notably, we’ll officially open never-before-seen areas like the CPO lounge and berthing area.

Birthday Weekend Programming Includes:

  • Newly-opened interior spaces, including the CPO lounge, Barber Shop, Ship’s Library, Galley, Dental Office & Brig (onboard jail!)
  • Come get your haircut in the ship’s Barber Shop – thanks to Vintage Barber for this one-of-a-kind experience (Sat. & Sun.)
  • WWII re-enactors on the Wisconsin’s historic fantail (Sat.)
  • Battleship Wisconsin veteran meet-and-greets
  • Family-friendly education demos and programming

Capacity limited to 30% and will be monitored. Online ticket purchases are strongly encouraged for guaranteed entry. Masks are required for visitors aged 5+.

Come explore the ship’s historic interior decks and be among the first to see the newly opened CPO lounge, berthing area, and mess. Visit the ship’s galley, where 540 dozen eggs and nearly 2,500 pounds of meat were prepared every day! What did crewmembers read aboard the battleship? Check it out in the ship’s library. Your family will explore the dental office, the post office, the ship’s laundry and even the brig!

Who is your hero? Honor your veteran, first-responder, relative or friend with a permanent plaque aboard the historic Battleship Wisconsin. Military or civilian, living or deceased – an engraved plaque placed aboard the last battleship built by the United States Navy is a meaningful and memorable gift.

Plaques are a tax-deductible donation to the Nauticus Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. All proceeds support the preservation, restoration, and interpretation of the Battleship Wisconsin.
